Information On Samantha's Illness

In 2007 at the age of 19, Samantha was diagnosed with IGM Nephropathy which progressed to Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis which is leading cause of kidney failure in adults. Currently her kidneys are functioning at 15%, compared to yours which function normally at 60-100%.

On Monday May 9th, she was evaluated by the ECMC Transplant Services Department and has been put on their transplant list, pending more tests.  She can not start accruing time on the list until all the testing is completed, which should be in the next few weeks.  However, if she finds a match with a living donor she can have the transplant done right away.

We are holding this benefit to help cover her out-of-pocket medical expenses, as well as the recovery time of 3-4 months.
